  1. What if I want to take a family vacation, and drive hundreds of miles?
    Ans) PHEV kit can save a lot of money while driving. But it will be able to give limited speed only. So, it is advisable to drive in electric mode in the city (vehicle’s mileage in the city drops to a large extent because of frequent braking and traffic) and switch to engine mode while driving on a highway where high speed is essential.
  2. Why would I want to drive a PEV?
    Ans) Primarily, they are also better for the environment. PEVs are able to reduce the total vehicle emissions by using electricity instead of gasoline. Most of the time, it’s also cheaper per mile to drive on electricity versus gasoline.
  3. How do you recharge a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle?
    Ans) At home, you can charge Outlander PHEV using a standard 120V household outlet (level 1 charging), or a professionally installed 240V charging station (level 2 charging). When you’re on the go, you can power up at a 240V public charging station (level 2), or at any DC Fast Charging station.
  4. Are there any government rebates or tax breaks on these vehicles?
    Ans) No, there are no rebates for a PHEV kit retrofitted vehicle.
  5. Is the performance of the vehicle compromised?
    Ans) The Front Wheel Drivability is not compromised as the combination of the motor 4WD system.
  6. What is regenerative braking?
    Ans) During deceleration (braking or coasting), the front and rear electric motors function as generators so that electricity can be generated and fed back into the main battery pack. The paddles on the steering wheel can control the Regenerative Braking mode in order to adjust how much power is restored into the battery.
  7. What are the different drive modes and how do I know which drive mode to be in?
    Ans) In a PHEV kit retrofitted vehicle, there are two driving modes, the electric and engine mode. It is advisable to drive on electric mode while in the city and to drive on engine mode on open spaces (like highway, expressway), long drives.
  8. Is PHEV better for the environment?
    Ans) As it has the ability to reduce pollution by up to 80%, it is eco-friendly.
  9. Do I need to install a charging station at home?
    Ans) It actually depends on your location, for charging the vehicle you need to keep a charging station. However, if your nearby locality has a charging station then doesn’t bother to keep a charging station.
  10. What will be the difference between the fully dedicated electric vehicle and our PHEV kit retrofitted vehicle?
    Ans) fully dedicated electric vehicle drives only on electric mode while on the other hand, the PHEV retrofitted vehicle will be able to drive on electric mode for limited range for daily conveyance and also switch to engine mode for extended range.
  11. Are the batteries of cell phones and electric vehicles the same?
    Ans) Both batteries use Lithium material. The distinguishing factor is the electrode material. Both the material uses different electrode material which determines the life of the battery pack.
  12. Does ambient temperature affect the battery’s range?
    Ans) Yes, the ambient temperature of the batteries matters. If the ambient temperature goes below or above the prescribed working temperature, the battery will consume its power to warm or cool itself respectively.
  13. By how much percentage does the PHEV kit will be able to reduce the vehicular pollution?
    Ans) With the help of our kit, you will be able to cover your daily distances on electric mode. This constitutes over 80% of your total distance covered. So, the PHEV kit will be able to reduce your pollution by up to 60%.
  14. Does ambient temperature affect the battery’s range?
    Ans) A battery always has an optimal operating temperature. A surrounding environment that is either too hot or too cold will adversely affect the battery’s range. So, on more expensive cars, EV makers generally build in a climate control system that either cools or heats the battery pack to protect it during extreme
    weather conditions.
  15. How long does it take to charge an EV?
    Ans) The kit will take around 2 hrs to charge and go up to 40 km again.
